22 Mar William’s Artwork Recently Installed at the University of Virginia Children’s Hospital in Charlottesville, VA
We are truly honored William’s painting, Wellspring #2 – Visions of Light, Peace & Hope (30″ x 60″ – acrylic on canvas), is installed at the lovely University of Virginia Children’s Hospital in Charlottesville, VA.
Wellspring depicts the ever-changing landscapes of life. Even in the most barren seasons, wellsprings transform dry desolate places into beautiful vistas that nourish the soul (Isa. 55:9-13).
We are humbled as the plaque for the artwork reads as follows:
“Wellspring – Visions of Light, Peace & Hope” By William Butler
Given in memory of Julian Tao Knipper
In creation’s light,
life, healing, and peace burst forth,
destroying darkness. – Ronja & William Butler
Precious Julian tragically died at 3 years old. His amazing family who loves him so much decided to honor his life by creating a fund to help economically disadvantaged children who would need care at the UVA Children’s Hospital. This is a tremendous and generous family so there was an outpouring of love and generosity whereby this fund grew allowing for four rooms for children to be created. Sweet Julian’s memory lives on, and we are incredibly honored to have William’s painting installed near these rooms. We hope and pray this artwork and haiku are inspiring to all the children, families, and medical staff viewing Wellspring #2 and also honoring to the fabulous Knipper family & precious Julian.
Special thanks to the tremendous Jim and Teresa Knipper. Also, special thanks to the wonderful Anne Brown, Polly Hunter, Bill, and all the UVA Health team who helped receive and install the artwork.
