Gallery Eleven One – Art Exhibit & Reception 4-8pm Featuring new paintings from William Butler’s new exhibit Ascension (10 large-format, geometric, abstract paintings) as well as Invincible Promise, the painting signed by President Obama, to honor Camden and to commemorate his visit – Art Talk (15 minutes) by William at 6pm & 7pm – Signed fine art prints also available – Extended hours on Friday, October 16th, from 4-8pm (339 N. Stedman Gallery/Rutgers Center for the Arts – Art Exhibit entitled “Visions of Place: Complex Geographies in Contemporary Israeli Art” 4-8pm – This exhibition will provide an unprecedented opportunity to have a rich artistic experience while exploring the complexities of current-day Israel through 51 works by a diverse group of 36 contemporary artists, all Israeli citizens. Although focused specifically on Israel, the issues raised by the exhibition (personal, political, religious, economic, etc.) are universal. Learn about the ever-evolving story of Israel, while gaining local and personal insight – Art Lecture by Ariane Littman, a Jerusalem-based photographer, video and performance artist – 6:30pm at the Black Box Theater next to the Stedman Gallery– Exhibit installed until December 17th (314 Linden Street on Rutgers Campus) www.rcca.camden.rutgers.edu

Ruby Match Factory and Camden ArtBox – Enjoy Beautiful Architecture and Art – Special Preview 4-5:30pm, Open House 6-8pm –The Ruby Match Factory is an historic warehouse that will soon be transformed into offices; come view it before the brick walls, timber trusses and x-braced steel columns are brought to life with new mezzanines and services to become Camden’s first state-of-the-art loft offices. – The Camden ArtBoxis a shipping container transformed into a public creative arts space. The exterior is a 4-sided mural arts space; the interior is a professional art gallery –Camden Beautiful is an exhibit of black and white representational paintings by William Butler, who lives and works in Camden and has been moved to sketch and paint its beauty – Fresh Artists’ Silly City Program with Ignite is an innovative display of work from North Camden children interpreting their built environment using recycled materials and lots of moxie – Stay to create your own art on the Camden ArtBox’s chalkboard installation: tell us why you love Camden – Enjoy a Ruby Rum Cocktail from Camden’s own Cooper River Distillers(300 N. If driving, there are plenty of free and metered street parking within walking distance of all the 3rd Thursday Art Crawl venues. Also, the City Hall PATCO stop and the Riverline stops are only blocks away from participating venues.
